If you’ve been in this summer, you probably noticed our new floor (it’s hard to miss). We’re thrilled with the new look to our coffee house and it complements our recent remodel nicely.
Re-Crete Colorado did the job for us this spring and Robert, the product manager had some comments on our project:
The overall scope of work was to resurface an old, crumbling and outdated floor for the #1 coffee shop in the Keystone Village. We accomplished this by first repairing the existing surface and returning it to a fully functioning and sound floor. Then the decorative surface layer was added, hand applied in a random fashion. Once this layer has dried, inxpot logo stencil was applied and etched into the concrete surface utilizing a media blasting technique and then hand painted. The new surface is then stained and enhanced with other topical colors. Finally, sealers are applied.
The inspiration came after working on site for three days. Understanding Tom & Susan’s, feeling the overall design and seeing this place as the cool, eclectic lounge that so many of us love to visit. We decided to go with a blue acid stain and then “calm” it down a bit with some charcoal grey highlights. This allowed us to bring a bright and positive vibe into the space but still work well with other rustic finishes.
